BLANCHESTER — A 90th birthday celebration will be held for Gladys Melvin from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 21. The party is at the Blanchester Municipal Building, 318 E. Main St.
She was born on May 16, 1926 in Preble County near West Alexander, Ohio.
Gladys is the mother of Susan Miller and Judy Melvin; a grandmother of Brooks and Nathan Miller; and a great-grandmother of Hannah, Maddie, Reese, Parker and Landan Miller.
Gladys and her late husband, Richard “Dick,” farmed near Blanchester. She also is a retired registered nurse.
