LEBANON, Ohio (AP) — A zoo’s plan to breed cheetahs in a southwest Ohio county by the end of summer is moving forward.

The Dayton Daily News reports that Cincinnati Zoo officials plan to present a site plan for the $1.5 million development to the Warren County Board of Zoning Appeals this month. The zoo is seeking a conditional use permit for the facilities to be located in a wooded area near the Miami Valley Gaming racino in Turtlecreek Township.

The zoo is planning to move 10 cheetahs now kept in Clermont County to the Warren County site.

A zoo spokeswoman says the breeding facility plans don’t include a run or a public viewing area. The run will be on a different part of the property and isn’t connected to the breeding project.
