Ashley Novak, meteorologist and forecaster with the National Weather Service office in Wilmington, will explore the history of weather and observations in Clinton County at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 10 at the Clinton County History Center.

Weather affects us every day and plays an important role in the county’s history. Weather observers submit a daily report and it is this record that helps forecasters at the National Weather Service have a better understanding of what has occurred and the historical perspective of different events.

These records become part of the climate history of the United States, and many significant weather events have occurred in Clinton County over the years. Novak will highlight some of these events and present some climate statistics for Clinton County.

This event is presented to the community at no charge; the Clinton County History Center is at 149 E. Locust St. in Wilmington. Donations are appreciated.
