Reverse raffle, dinner to benefit WAHS

The Wilmington Area Humane Society (WAHS) needs your help! Our facility was sold a short time ago, and to continue our commitment in helping dogs and cats from our area, a new facility is under construction.

The Roberts family of R+L Carriers has made a generous monetary donation for the construction of the building, but we are asking for your assistance to fund the costs of cages, kennels, fencing and other pet-related items to complete the facility. We would like to invite you to join us from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27 at a Benefit Dinner for WAHS — a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization — hosted by the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 141 East Sugartree St., Wilmington. The event will feature music by D.J. Charlie Hargraves, food and multiple raffles.

If you love animals or wish to support WAHS and have a great time while doing it, this event is for you.

The featured raffle is the Reverse Raffle with a jackpot of up to $1,500. Additional raffles include a 50/50 Drawing, raffles for a 32-inch Smart TV and many other items. Local businesses and members of the community have generously donated a number of gifts including over night stays at area hotels and motels, meals at area restaurants, classes in stained glass, oil change and tire rotation, wine, gift baskets and gift cards that can be used for many wonderful services and items.

Cost for the Reverse Raffle and dinner is a $25 minimum donation which includes one Reverse Raffle ticket entry and dinner. Only 200 tickets will be sold for the Reverse Raffle (need not be present to win). Payment may be made at D&G’s Paws and Claws Snack Shack, 5356 US 68 North, Wilmington; check payable to WAHS, memo Reverse Raffle, and mailed to WAHS, Box 968, Wilmington, OH 45177 or by PayPal, memo Reverse Raffle. Non-ticket holders are welcome to make a $10 donation at the door for dinner and night’s events.

WAHS is an all-volunteer non-profit formed to promote the welfare of dogs and cats in Clinton County and to provide programs to the residents of this area to nurture and strengthen the human/animal bond. Our current facility is located at 5361 US 68 North, Wilmington.
