Stephen R. Cook, 74, of Greenfield, died at 4:11 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe.

He was born March 22, 1942 in Middletown, Ohio, the son of Clarence E. and Koneta Harden Cook. On Sept. 7, 1984 he married the former Patricia “Pat” McMurray, who survives.

Also surviving are his father, Clarence E. Cook of Wilmington; one daughter, Rebecca Moore of Okinawa, Japan; four stepchildren, Genea Stayrook of Washington Court House, Timothy McGlone of Lakeview, Ohio, Tony McGlone of Bainbridge and Gregg McGlone of Greenfield; 20 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and two more on the way; two sisters, Catherine (Charles) Greenberg of Okeechobee, Florida and Sara (Richard) Workman of Xenia; along with several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother; one stepdaughter, Rose McGlone; and one brother, Mike Cook.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Steve was an excellent auto body repair and paint man. He was a member of the American Motorcycle Association and loved to take many trips on his motorcycle. He was an awesome grandfather to all of his grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 7 at 1 p.m. in the Anderson-Ebright Funeral Home, Greenfield. Burial will follow in the Cynthiana Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard.
