WHS names April Students of Month

WILMINGTON — The Wilmington High School Students of the Month for April have been announced:

The Art Department recognizes Raevon Swan for his commitment to his craft. Raevon is a skilled art student who completes his assignments with a unique flair and is considerate of his materials and of other subtends as he achieves his goals. Raevon excels in all mediums as a result of his high expectations and confidence.

The Business Department recognizes Adao Russo for his work in PLTW engineering class. He displays outstanding design talent and is generous in his efforts to help classmates.

The Choral Department recognizes Kya Resor as a consistent and committed performer in the WHS choirs. Kya also serves as the Choir Booster student representative. As such, she is responsible to communicate with all high school choirs and report to the boosters to share the student perspective. Kya can always be found encouraging her classmates to better themselves and subsequently, the choirs as a whole.

The English Department recognizes Anthony Newbry for his continuous efforts in completing assignments correctly and on time. He is a model students and sets a positive example for his peers on to perform and conduct oneself in class.

The Foreign Language Department recognizes Jacob Whip for his interest language learning and for consistently modeling respect and responsibility in the classroom. He is a leader in French class and goes out of his way to help his fellow students.

The Math Department recognizes Ethan Powell for his diligent efforts in geometry during second semester. He has become a conscientious math student and his commitment is admirable.

The Physical Education Department recognizes Roger Turner for his positive attitude and encouraging support of classmates. Roger is helpful in class and consistently gives his best interest.

The Science Department recognizes Brendan Powell for his efforts in maintain outstanding grades throughout the year. He has demonstrated exceptional understanding and interest in physical science concepts.

The Social Studies Department recognizes Alex Brooks for going above and beyond classroom expectations. Alex’s passion and desire to learn from various areas of the social studies content has made him a model students performing at the highest level.

The Theatre Department recognizes Jen Cochran for her meticulous work in Theatre Arts. Jen is a strong independent learner who pusher herself to raise the bar, yet she is not afraid to ask questions or seek help when needed. Jen put in extra time and effort to make her projects a cut above the rest. She is never content in just meeting a challenge, but consistently exceeds expectations.
