LEES CREEK — The East Clinton Local Schools Board of Education voted 3-2 Thursday to rehire the middle school principal.

At a special morning meeting of the school board, Robbin Luck received a new two-year contract to work as an administrator. Prior to the voting, she met with board members in executive session to go through some things, said East Clinton Superintendent Eric Magee.

Voting in favor of awarding the contract were Board of Education President Linda Compton, Vice President Tim Starkey and member Mark Garen.

Voting against the employment contract were members Shane Walterhouse and Greg Bronner.

Magee had recommended Luck for a two-year contract at the regular board meeting May 17. At that meeting, Walterhouse asked that for the purpose of the board’s voting, Luck’s name be pulled from the other staffers’ names up for employment contracts.

After that, the board voted 5-0 May 17 to postpone its voting upon the proposed contract until the special meeting scheduled for Thursday.
