Quilt donated to Blan library

Blanchester Sewing Club members donated their handmade 60-inch x 60-inch wall hanging quilt with a library theme to the Blanchester Public Library. They said it is their way to thank the library for the club using the facility’s community meeting room plus show support for the public library. Throughout the year, they work on sewing projects, such as making clothes for Salvation Army dolls, outfitting teddy bears, making pillowcase dresses, and donating a quilt to auction off and raise funds for Harlan Township firefighters. The club meets 10 a.m. on the second Tuesday of the month, and would welcome new members. From left are library Director Chris Owens, club President Naomi Phipps, and club members Barbara Hameister, Phyllis Wagner and Mary Walker. Pam Barricklow is not pictured but helped with the quilt project.
