BHS grads take the next step

As the blue-clad class of 2016 ended its final year at Blanchester High School Sunday, there was no lack of emotion in the room. The 129th graduating class was abuzz with excitement, the happy parents couldn’t help but tear up, and the faculty was more than ready to reward the accomplished students with much more than just a diploma.

“No matter where we go or what we do, we still remain the Blanchester class of 2016,” Maria Bockhorst shared in her salutatorian speech. Such words can be taken into consideration while the class accepted its many awards, such as honors given by the Blanchester Rotary Club, the Chamber of Commerce and more.

The traditional ceremony, led by Principal Rick Hosler alongside his faculty, was nothing short of a benchmark in their academic careers, and will lead the class to greater things.

Though much more can be said on this topic, one can only wish them luck to fulfill their dreams from here on out. As Christian Woodyard, the class president, said in his speech, “This speech represents the end of one life, and the beginning of another.”
