COLUMBUS (AP) — Road, air and water travel will be restricted around Cleveland for this month’s Republican National Convention, with security measures affecting passenger and cargo vehicles.

The event is expected to draw about 50,000 people, and major congestion is anticipated.

Officials will close roads surrounding the main venue, Quicken Loans Arena. Traffic will be restricted on a nearby stretch of Interstate 90 and other roads.

Flight restrictions will apply around Cleveland during the convention, and Cleveland-bound flights not under preapproved security procedures must stop first at the Youngstown or Akron-Canton airports for screenings.

The U.S. Coast Guard has announced restricted zones in Lake Erie on July 17 and along the Cuyahoga River from July 18-22. Sightseeing and dinner boats are expected to operate under waivers.
