Recipes wanted for Salt magazine

Do you have a favorite recipe you like to make in the fall, perhaps your go-to chili or your famous apple pie?

We would love for you to share that recipe and a few words about it for possible publication in the next Salt magazine. All entries will be put into a drawing to win a $25 grocery card.

Email Lora Abernathy, Salt editor, at [email protected] by Monday, Aug. 15. Be sure to include your name, address and phone number. If you have a photo of your dish that you would like to share, be sure and send that, too.

WSB debuts lending office in Hillsboro

In addition to their main branch on Main Street in Wilmington, the latest addition to 119 S. High St. in Hillsboro is a lending office for Wilmington Savings Bank. The expansion location is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“We’re thrilled to be expanding into the beautiful town of Hillsboro, and to bring our special brand of exceptional services provided by exceptional people,” bank president Tom Burns shared. “The ability for a community to have access to lending dollars to buy a new home, a car, an equity loan to spruce up or remodel, all of these things are good for the growth and vibrancy of a community. And, we’re proud to be part of that.”

Burns added that unlike the big mega banks, lending decisions are made locally by members of the community bank. The bank offers traditional, FHA and VA loans, as well as home equity lending and auto loans. More information can be accessed at www.WilmingtonSavings.com or by calling 937-366-1421.
