4 teens seriously injured in crash

JEFFERSON TWP. – Four teenagers were seriously injured in a one-vehicle crash Friday night in Jefferson Twp., Clinton County.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol Wilmington Post, at about 9:30 p.m. Elizabeth N. Alexander, 16, of Sardinia was traveling west on Lynchburg Road near Oak Grove Road, driving a 2000 Dodge Durango. The vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and struck a ditch, causing heavy damage to the vehicle, the OSHP said.

Alexander and her front-seat passenger, Alisha N. Willard, 16, of Lynchburg, were transported by CareFlight helicopter to Miami Valley Hospital.

There were two rear-seat passengers in the vehicle. Jordan A. Ashcroft, 19, of Blanchester and Caleb J. Willard, 18, of Lynchburg were transported to Clinton Memorial by Blanchester EMS, then both were flown to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight.

Seat belts were not in use at the time of the crash, according to to the OSHP; alcohol and drug involvement are unknown at this time. The crash remains under investigation.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by Blanchester Fire/EMS and Clinton County Sheriff’s Office.
