No one was transported to the hospital following a three-vehicle chain-reaction collision Thursday afternoon on Progress Way near Airborne Road, Wilmington. One person probably received seat belt abrasions, said WPD Sgt. Ron Fithen at the scene. Wet roads are considered a contributing factor to the crash. Bobby Bashore, 85, of Wilmington, will be cited with failing to maintain an assured clear distance ahead, the sergeant said. Bashore’s 1998 Chevrolet C1500 pickup rear-ended a Buick car that was pushed into a Chevy Suburban sport utility vehicle, said Fithen.
