CMHS inducts 36 into NHS

CLARKSVILLE — Family members, students and staff gathered at Clinton-Massie High School Sunday, Nov. 20 to celebrate the 52th Annual National Honor Society Induction Ceremony.

NHS member Isaiah Turner welcomed guests and congratulated students for having earned such an academic accomplishment.

As the ceremony began, Turner spoke about the Light of Knowledge and lit a candle symbolizing that light. Continuing the Light of Knowledge and speaking about the pillars that are the foundation of the honor society, Jezreel Forand spoke about scholarship, Kirsten Cordy leadership, Cole Isaacs service, and Angela Miller character.

During the induction ceremony, friends and family members of influence came forward to honor candidates as they participated in the candle-lighting ceremony. As new members pledged to uphold the Honor Society purpose and to be loyal to their school while maintaining the high stands of character, scholarship, leadership and service, members of the Class of 2017 officially welcomed the next generation of the Clinton-Massie High School National Honor Society.

The following students were inducted into the Clinton-Massie High School National Honor Society: Noah Brausch, StefaniRae Brewer, Juliana Burton-Hay, Levi Campbell, Claire Carruthers, Kelsey Carter, Elijah Cole, Kayley Coletta, Gabriella Conner, Lauren Ellis, Makenzie Fentress, Tori Flanigan, Andrew Garrett, Jade Harrell, Carlie Harris, Matthew Hendrickson, Cathryn Hodge, Maggie Holderman, Andrew Houseman, Katie Hughes, Alexandria Juniet, Taylor Kropp, Kenton McInerney, Morgan McIntosh, Ashlie Miller, Emma Purkey, Logan Reese, Lauren Roush, Ellie Smedley, Alana Smith, Hailey Stinchcomb, Anne Thompson, Trey Uetrecht, Cara Vinup, Jaycob Wolf, and Megan Wonderly.

Returning NHS members include Bethany Brausch, Jocelyn Burton, Tyler Carter, Kirstin Cordy, Christopher Demler, Jezreel Forand, Aric France, Courtney Gibson, Jonathan Ginn, Alex Hudson, Piper Hurlburt, Cole Isaacs, Hannah Lisle, Angela Miller, Taylor Neace, Preslee Rolf, Chase Sears, Matthew Sell, Ashleigh Sell, Isaiah Turner, Callianna VanPelt, and Celeste Voss.

Following the induction ceremony, new members, along with their families and honored guests were invited to attend a reception celebration.
