The Clinton-Warren Joint Fire District responded to an overturned semi-truck and trailer on I-71 at the southbound 37-mile marker in Warren County on Friday. The driver was not injured, but the semi was hauling approximately 1,000 gallons of flammable paint products in 55-gallon drums and other equipment, according to CWJFD Capt. Mick Friend. “Four of the drums with the flammable product were ruptured, leaking approximately 20 gallons of the liquid out into the trailer,” said Friend. “The leak was contained to the trailer by the fire district and was cleaned up by a hazardous clean-up crew from the trucking company. Traffic was maintained in the emergency lane only for over six hours while the accident was cleaned up.” The Ohio EPA was notified, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol, ODOT and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office were on the scene with the Clinton-Warren Joint Fire District for over six-and-a-half hours, Friend said.
