WILMINGTON — The public is invited to the official dedication of the new bird watching area in J. W. Denver Williams Jr. Memorial Park at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 18. The event is the culmination of a Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout service project by Steven Taylor and features reclaimed lumber from the David R. Williams farm barn, recently removed from its original site on Rombach Avenue.

David Rombach Williams and J. W. Denver Williams Jr., Boy Scouts themselves, were brothers for whom the adjacent City of Wilmington parks are named.

The dedication event will begin at 10 a.m. at the bird watching station, located just east of the playground in the J. W. Denver Williams Jr. Memorial Park.

For additional information, please contact Lori Kersey Williams, Parks and Recreation Director at 937-382-4781 or [email protected].
