Garden club creates for hospice patients

The Special Project committee members of the Wilmington Garden Club met recently for their last meeting of the club year. This committee is only one of several within the Garden Club that serve the community.

The Special Project members meet four times a year to create and donate tray favors for hospice patients in the Clinton County area — Thanksgiving, Winter Holidays, Valentine’s Day, and Spring. The Spring decoration is pictured here, and was made with budding tree branches and cut-out dogwood blossoms. About 50 of the decorations were made and donated.

The ladies met at Annette Redfern’s home, and used materials and patterns supplied by Committee Chair Susan Hunt. Also present were Wanda Everman, Inga Grove, Donna Tronerud, Shirley Katter, Polly Countryman, Ann Johnson, Nan Kennelly and Angie Monroe.
