An English Garden Party — a fundraiser for Community Care Hospice —will be held 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 27 at English Garden Farm, 6599 Old US Rte 35 East, Jamestown.
English Garden Farm is a 2.5-acre private garden serving as host for a fundraiser for the local non-profit hospice, Community Care Hospice of Wilmington, which is an affiliate of Ohio’s Hospice.
English Garden Farm has been in development as an ornamental garden for 15 years and contains thousands of trees, shrubs, roses and perennials of wide variety amidst meandering paths and grassy areas. Many of the plants are rare and unusual. The gardening space was originally all grass.
The English Garden Party consists of tours of the garden with the gardener, held hourly beginning at 11 a.m.; wandering through the gardens on one’s own; typical English Garden Party finger foods including freshly made, British-style scones with homemade jam and Earl Grey iced tea; and a prize plants drawing for which all attending tickets are automatically entered.
Attendees may come when they like and stay for the duration if so desired. Attendance and tickets are limited, so advance purchase is strongly advised.
Tickets are $15 per person in advance; $20 at the door. Tickets are available at Community Care Hospice, 1669 Rombach Ave., Wilmington, or by calling 937-382-5400.
