CMH employees awarded HACC scholarships

Two scholarships of $2,000 each were recently awarded to Clinton Memorial Hospital employees to further their education in healthcare. Jennifer Wall and Shelby Collins were presented the awards at the Health Alliance of Clinton County dinner in the Foster Boyd, M.D. Regional Cancer Center on Oct. 27.

Wall serves as an Emergency Room technician at CMH with five years’ experience. She attends Wilmington College and plans to work in healthcare communications. Collins is an Obstectrics technician in the Mother Baby Care Unit at CMH. She is STNA certified, and also attends Southern State Community College to receive her LPN certification.

Jan Blair, Director of Human Resources, Sheila Richardson, Manager Critical Care Services, Chase Collins, Assistant Manager ED and Amy Donaldson, CQO and Acting CNO from Clinton Memorial Hospital attended and spoke in honor of Wall and Collins regarding their accomplishments and perseverance in bettering themselves for their jobs and life experiences.

The HACC Medical Scholarship Fund was created in 2011 to show appreciation and gratitude to the many CMH employees who support the fund raising events of the Health Alliance.

The Health Alliance raises money through book fairs, $5 jewelry sales and the annual Holiday Ball and auction. Proceeds are used to assist patients through the Community Care Hospice, Heather’s Hope, the Clinton County Health Department Children’s Immunization Program, a Cancer Patient’s Assistance Program (CPAP) and to help support the HACC Scholarship Fund.

The next $5 jewelry sale will be held in the CMH Atrium Lobby on Nov. 15, 16 and 17. The Holiday Ball will occur Saturday, Dec. 12at the Roberts Centre in Ballroom A at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. Confirmed reservations are needed. More information may be obtained by calling 937-218-7027.
