Blanchester Police responded to three heroin overdoses Saturday night — all in the same block.

At around 7:45 p.m. officers responded to a vehicle crash at W. Fancy and S. Mill streets and found a car had run off the road. According to BPD Chief Scott Reinbolt, the driver was identified as 28-year-old Raejean Polston of Hillsboro and the front passenger was Casey Polley of Leesburg; Polston’s two-year-old child was in the back seat.

Both Polston and Polley were unresponsive, Reinbolt said. An ambulance was summoned and transported Polley to the hospital.

Polston was arrested and charged with Child Endangering and transported to the Clinton County Jail.

“A kind-hearted couple in the neighborhood offered to care for Polston’s child until officers were able to find a more appropriate placement,” Reinbolt said. “The child was later given over to Polston’s sister.”

Evidence gathered by officers indicates that Polston and Polley obtained heroin at 115 W. Fancy St., which they then consumed, according to Reinbolt. They made it less than a block before crashing.

While officers were at the scene of the crash, an ambulance was called to 115 W. Fancy St. for a heroin overdose. Kristen Nicholson, 35, of Sabina was transported by ambulance to the hospital. Reinbolt said officers later responded to the residence and obtained evidence indicating Nicholson used heroin inside the home just prior to the ambulance call. She is charged with Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments.

Police are currently seeking the whereabouts of Matthew Hudnell, 34, who reportedly fled the home at 115 W. Fancy St. prior to the ambulance arriving, according to Reinbolt.
