WILMINGTON – Ferno, the global leader in emergency pre-hospital patient handling equipment, announced the iN∫TRAXX Integrated Vehicle Component System and iN∫Line Fastening System won the EMS World Top Innovation Award.

Judges at the 2016 World Expo in New Orleans assessed 30 finalists for the award in early October. The EMS World Expo is the largest and most internationally attended EMS conference and trade show in North America.

“The awards were created to recognize companies exhibiting new products that embrace innovation and true application to the area of the industry the product is intended for, durability, robustness and affordability,” said Thomas Greve, EMS World’s business development manager for the Northeast region.

Ferno’s iN∫TRAXX won the EMS World Top Innovation Award at the 2015 and 2016 EMS World Expo. iN∫TRAXX features tracks on the interior walls of an ambulance with specially-designed mounts that secure loose medical supplies and equipment. This allows medics to deliver patient care safely from a seated and restrained position.

“Ferno is honored to receive the Top Innovation Award for two of our outstanding products. Thank you, EMS World Expo, for recognizing how the iN∫TRAXX and iN∫Line are transforming pre-hospital patient care,” said Jason Wender, Global Marketing Director at Ferno.

Both iN∫TRAXX and iN∫Line are built with medics in mind, and are compliant with new ambulance safety requirements from the Society of Automotive Engineers.

The EMS World Editorial Advisory Board and select EMS World faculty served as judges for the Top Innovation Award.
