Falcon wrestlers win Blanchester Duals

BLANCHESTER — The Clinton-Massie wrestling team won the Blanchester Duals tournament this weekend at the BHS gym.

The Falcons swept through the tournament with an unbeaten record, including a 43-27 win over Blanchester.

The Wildcats were 2-3-2 in the tournament, defeating a combined McNicholas/Madeira team (48-20) and Amelia (42-39), losing to Massie, New Richmond (45-24), and Reading (40-39) and finishing in a tie with both Wyoming (36-36) and Little Miami (33-33).

For Blanchester, Kyle Denier at 120 pounds and Cade Huston at 220 pounds were both unbeaten at 7-0.

Going 6-1 for the Wildcats were Tyler Hartness of 113 and Brent Hopkins at 126. Ramiro Torres at 145 was 5-2 while Dalton McMullen at 160 and Austin Walker (182/195) were both 3-4.

Dale Sturgill at 132 was 2-5 and Justin Lucas at 285 was 2-3. Simon Latchford at 138 and Steve Latchford at 152 both won 1 match.
