FAIRBORN — Clinton-Massie’s Davey Tunon finished 2nd and Wilmington’s Allister Brausch 6th in their respecctive weight classes Tuesday at the Greater Miami Valley Wresting Association Holiday Tournament at Wright State’s Nutter Center.
Tunon breezed through his first three matches at 152 pounds, winning all three by pins in a total time of 4:41.
He then notched a pair of decisions, defeating Willy Plaisir of Dublin Coffman 10-6 and then No. 4 seed Andrew Acuna of Lakota West 5-4 in the semifinal round.
In the title match, he lost 4-3 to Greg Brusco, the No. 2 seed from Delaware Hayes.
Wilmington’s Allister Brausch was in the 160-pound weight class.
Brausch raced into the winner’s bracket semifinal against No. 1 seed Garrett Jordan of powerhouse Graham. Jordan won by technical fall 22-7, putting Brausch in the consolation bracket. The Wilmington senior then lost to No. 3 seed Zach Bowman of Columbus Hartley by pin in 2:59 in the semifinal round.
In his final match, Brausch lost to unseeded Shota Sisco of Pickerington Central 13-8.
