The Rodger O. Borror eighth grade girls basketball team opened the 2016 portion of its schedule with a 51-35 win over Washington Monday night.

The young Lady Hurricane (now 6-0 on the year) had 6 players in the scoring column.

Sami McCord led the way with 15 points, 2 rebounds and 2 steals.

Jasmine Jamiel had 10 points, 4 steals and a rebound. Karlie Morgan had 10 points, 10 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 blocked shots.

Sophie Blessing chipped in with 8 points while Olivia Veidt had 4 points, 5 rebounds and a steal. Allie Kees had 4 points, 2 rebounds and 2 steals. Lexi Evans grabbed 2 rebounds.
