WEST UNION — The Blanchester reserve girls basketball team defeated West Union 32-24 Monday night.

Blanchester trailed 13-12 at halftime then outscored West Union 8-2 in the third period to take the lead.

Elecia Patton and Regan Ostermeier had 8 points each to pace the Ladycats offense.

Olivia Gundler added 6 points and Shelbie Rose scored 4. Asia Baldwin and Dakota Watters had 3 points each.

Coach Bradon Pyle said the Blanchester defense sparked a turn around once West Union cut the difference from 10 points to 3 points down the stretch. The Ladycats scored the final 5 points of the game to push their record to 11-0 on the year.

Coach Pyle said non-scorers Hayley Wilson, Jalyna Ambrocio and Savanna Shank “all provided the hustle and defense that ultimately won the game.”
