EC falls to SCOL duo

The East Clinton wrestling team lost a pair of matches to South Central Ohio League rivals Washington (57-20) and Wilmington (59-11) Thursday.

Against Wilmington, the lone non-forfeit Astros victory was recorded by 138-pounder Samuel Morgan, who recorded a tech fall in 2:45 against Canon Ford.

Against Washington, Noah Morgan defeated Conner Chrisman 7-1 at 145 pounds; Thomas Wright won by pin (3:02) over Jerry Knapp at 152 pounds; Josh Jones at 106 over Collin George by pin (3:27); and Austin Brock over Christopher Martin by pin (2:00) at 120 pounds.

East Clinton competed at the West Jefferson Invitational in late December. Brock was 3-5 with 2 pins at 120 pounds; Cameron Bloch was 3-4 at 170 pounds.

At the Madison Invitational, Bloch was 4-1 with 2 pins; Brock 5-0 with 3 pins; Charles Erdman was 1-3 with a pin; Josh Jones was 3-1 with 2 pins; Noah Morgan was 4-1 with 3 pins; Robert Norman was 0-5; DJ Perry was 0-5; Kaleb Williams was 1-4; and Thomas Wright was 2-2 with 2 pins.

On Dec. 17, Clinton-Massie defeated East Clinton 64-6 with Josh Jones winning by forfeit at 106 for the only Astros victory.
