LEES CREEK — While East Clinton finished fourth in the final team standings Saturday at their own East Clinton Duals Tournament, head coach Doug Stehlin took a closer look at the way things unfolded for his Astros.

“Our guys did their best in a dual format tournament and individually we’re picking up many wins to help the team,” said Stehlin. “Out of the 6 matches against Williamsburg, we tied 3 to 3 in head-to-head matchups and lost to Badin by points but won 6 of the 8 matches wrestled.”

In other words, East Clinton lost both matches because of forfeits.

Williamsburg was the team champion with Badin second, Piqua third, EC fourth, North College Hill fifth and Indian Hill sixth.

East Clinton posted wins over Indian Hill 42-24 and North College Hill 42-36 while losing to Piqua 33-24, Williamsburg 45-19 and Badin 36-33.

Noah Morgan was unbeaten for the Astros (5-0) with 3 pins.

Josh Jones at 106 pounds was 4-1 with a pin; Austin Brock at 120 pounds was 4-1 with 2 pins; Kalob Williams at 132 was 4-1 with 2 pins; Charles Erdman at 160 went 4-1 with 3 pins; and Cameron Bloch at 170 was 4-1 with 2 pins.

Thomas Wright was 2-3 at 152 pounds with a pin. DJ Perry was 3-2 at 182 pounds and Cameron Yankey was 1-0 with a pin at 145 pounds.
