BLANCHESTER — The Blanchester reserve girls basketball team defeated Batavia 35-28 Monday in a non-league game at the BHS gym.

Elecia Patton paced the BHS scoring attack with 8 points. Olivia Gundler and Regan Ostermeier had 6 points each.

Asia Baldwin contributed 5 points and Dakota Watters scored 4 points. Hayley Wilson had 3 points and Jalyna Ambrocio scored 2 points. Shelbie Rose had a free throw.

Blanchester, now 13-1 on the year, led most of the way but struggled offensively against the Lady Bulldogs halfcourt defense. Coach Braden Pyle added the Ladycats were able to make “the majority of their free throws” to hold on for the win.
