Massie boys top Chillicothe in SCOL bowling

CHILLICOTHE — The Clinton-Massie boys bowling team swept two matches Friday with Chillicothe and Wilmington at Shawnee Lanes.

The Falcons had 2,292 and defeated Chillicothe who had 1,963 in a South Central Ohio League match. The match against Wilmington did not count toward the league standings but the Falcons won by 6 pins.

Aric France led the way with a two-game 482 series (234, 248).

“He continues to show his strength on the lanes while he continues to hold his 210 average,” CM coach Shonda Marburger said.

David Poynter had a 379 (179, 200) while Joey Marburger had 377 (184, 193) for the Falcons. Jacob Wellman finished with 147, 203 and Corey Potts had 124 and 137.

On the girls side, Clinton-Massie had 1,637 and lost to Wilmington 1,782 and Chillicothe 1,882.

Kathryn Wilson led CM with 298 (130, 168) while Gwen Broderick had 266 (131, 135). Katie Starnes had 138 and 109 games while Josie Wolfe finished with 144 and 99. Casey Cochran had 95 and 115.

“We continue to work on making adjustments on the lanes,” Marburger said.

For the JV Lady Falcons, Brittany Fry had a career-best 202 game as Clinton-Massie had 1,329. Wilmington had one less bowler than Massie. Chillicothe did not have a JV team. Fry finished with a 347 series.

Also, Rachel Cochran had 222 (105, 117), Carole Umstead had 255 (133, 122) and Jennifer Callewaert had 194 (107, 87).
