GOSHEN — The Wilmington High School boys bowling team defeated Goshen 2,298 to 1,993 Thursday in non-league action at Eastgate Lanes.

Wilmington’s girls were defeated 1,248 to 1,166. Melanie Harris, moving up from the reserve girls squad, had a personal best game of 134.

The WHS reserve boys had a season-high 162 games from Austin Thompson.

The varsity Hurricane got off to a slow start.

“Many bowlers were complaining about marks on the bowling balls coming back,” said WHS head coach Joe Davis. “We had them stop and have the problem looked at and hopefully fixed. When we came back our games picked up.”

Sawyer Kratzer had a 258 game to lead all bowlers.
