CM girls reserve squad whips Washington

ADAMS TOWNSHIP — Despite making just 7 of 24 free throws, the Clinton-Massie reserve girls basketball team defeated Washington 26-18 Saturday in South Central Ohio League action.

Madilyn Newton had 10 of her game-high 16 points in the first period as the Falcons grabbed a 12-0 lead.

However, Washington held Massie scoreless in the second quarter to make it a 12-11 game at halftime in favor of CMHS.

Emily Ireland and Haley Conley had four points each for Ed Machado’s squad while Kendall Cloud and Sydney Leary had one point each.

Maddy Garrison, Breanna Taylor and Savanna Davis scored four points each for the Blue Lions.

Tabby Woods and Delaney Greer had three points each for the visitors.
