WHS swimmers sweep SCOL quad meet at WC

The Wilmington girls swim team won a quad meet against South Central Ohio League foes Chillicothe, Hillsboro and Clinton-Massie Tuesday at Wilmington College.

Alyssa Lewis and Morgan Bahr led the way with two individual first-place finishes each. They also were part of the first place 200-meter medley relay team with Alison Dooley and Anna Garnai and the 400-meter free relay team with Gethsemane Bray and Brianna Gilbert. Lewis and Gilbert, along with Rachael Billups and Anna Garnai, took the top spot in the 200 free relay for a Hurricane relay sweep.

Gracie Storm led the Falcons girls with first-place finishes in the 200 individual medley and 100 free.

The Hurricane boys relay team of Austin Carey, Harrison Law, Sam Osborn and Ricky Dungan won the final event of the evening, the 400 freestyle relay, to tie Chillicothe for first place. That quartet also won the 200 medley relay and individually combined for four first-place finishes.

Massie’s top boys finisher was Drew Puckett who took second in the 400 free and a third in the 200 free.

Hillsboro’s Braden Wildey won the 50 free by nearly a second and the 100 free by a second and half. He also was the first leg of the first-place 200 free relay team that included Micah Pinnehy, Sevrin Florek and Jonah Humphries.

TEAM RESULTS

GIRLS: Wilmington 156, Chillicothe 94.5, Hillsboro 24, Clinton-Massie 23.5.

BOYS: Wilmington 109, Chillicothe 109, Hillsboro 45, Clinton-Massie 35.
