WILLIAMSBURG — The Blanchester reserve girls basketball team defeated Williamsburg 40-26 Thursday night in Southern Buckeye Conference action.

Blanchester, 18-1 on the year, defeated Williamsburg 40-9 in the first meeting but struggled early in this one, coach Bradon Pyle said. BHS led 6-4 after one, 17-15 at halftime. Coach Pyle said Blanchester’s “bad defense, lack of boxing out and trouble against Williamsburg’s 2-3 zone defense” made the game close in the first half.

Blanchester then outscored Williamsburg 23-11 in the second half.

Elecia Patton led Blanchester with 15 points. Dakota Watters and Hayley Wilson had eight points each. Regan Ostermeier scored five points and Olivia Gundler had four points.
