Boldman 1st, Hurricane 7th at 46th Eaton Inv.

EATON — The Wilmington High School wrestling team finished seventh Saturday at the 46th annual Eaton Invitational.

Eaton won the tournament with 186.5 points with Ross, Springfield, Sheridan, Edgewood and Northmont finishing ahead of the Hurricane, who scored 107 points.

The rest of the field was Milton-Union, Tippecanoe, Oakwood, Valley View, Carroll, Wayne, Waynesville, Bellbrook, Carlisle, Shawnee, National Trail, Twin Valley South, Batavia and Thurgood Marsrhall.

Jacob Boldman was the lone champion for the Hurricane, posting an 11-3 win over Kamron Paulus of Milton-Union in the 132-pound championship match.

Boldman decisioned Austin Wolcott of Sheridan 5-3 in the semifinal round. He had a major decision of Max Neiling of Bellbrook 18-8 in the quarterfinals. He opened the tournament with an 11-7 win over Brandon Weaver of Eaton.

Isaac Allen at 145 (pin over Austin Smith of Ross) and Briten Kessler at 195 (pin over Owen Loughman of Sheridan) were both third-place finishers for Wilmington.

Bryant Bergefurd at 160 and Gage Smith at 220 were both sixth-place finishers.
