Cumberland leads county group honored by Dist. 15, Dist. 16 coaches

Wilmington senior Jarron Cumberland leads a group of Clinton County basketball players honored by area coaches.

The District 15 and District 16 boys and girls basketball squads were named recently. Coaches vote on the players in their respective districts.

Cumberland was named the Div. I District 15 player of the year.

Cumberland has been selected to play in a couple of post-season all-star games — the Ohio Basketball Coaches Association North-South game and the Ohio vs Kentucky All-Star game.

Wilmington head coach Michael Noszka has been selected as a coach on the Ohio squad in the Ohio vs Kentucky All-Star game.

The boys Dist. 16 all-stars have not been announced by Blanchester’s Alec Richardson has been selected to play in the Greater Cincinnati Basketball Coaches Association East-West All-Star game, coach Adam Weber said. Weber also will coach the East squad in the game.

Miquela Santoro of Clinton-Massie was named to the Div. I senior all-star squad in Dist. 15.

Blanchester’s Sarah Burton was named to the Div. II first team in Dist. 16.

Dylan Beaugard of WHS was named to the Div. I underclassman team in Dist. 15.

Clinton-Massie’s Trey Uetrecht was named to the Div. II underclassman team in Dist. 15.

Wilmington’s Mya Jackson was named to the Div. II underclassman team in Dist. 15.

Blanchester’s Rachael Doyle was named to the Dist. 16 second team.
