WC women’s lacrosse dumped by TMC

CINCINNATI – The Wilmington College women’s lacrosse team fell to Mount St. Joseph in non-conference action, 13-4, at Schueler Field Thursday.

Junior Nikki Northern (Dayton, OH/Chaminade Julienne) scored two of the team’s four goals, all of which were unassisted.

Senior Rachel Routzong (Urbana, OH/Urbana) and senior Abby Jude (Lancaster, OH/Fairfield Union) tallied the other goals. Jude has scored in three of Wilmington’s four games.

Senior goalkeeper Katie Bennett (Newport, OH/Frontier) led the team with five ground balls, while junior Kayla Ogan (Raymond, OH/Marysville) added four ground balls.

Bennett finished with 13 saves on 26 shots.

Wilmington won just five of the game’s 17 draw controls, and went 0-for-4 on its free position shots.

Wilmington (1-4) travels to Hiram 1 p.m. Saturday in non-conference action.
