EC softball earns 1 varsity, 2 JV scrimmage wins

The East Clinton softball program posted three scrimmage wins on Monday and Wednesday.

The Lady Astros varsity defeated Batavia 10-2 on Wednesday.

Against the Lady Bulldogs, in the 10-2 win, Tori Bailey had two hits and drove in three runs. Lacey Peterman and Taylor Spence had two hits and two RBI each. Madi Pirman and Taylor Boeckmann had two hits. Miranda Beener had two hits and scored two runs. Kayla Hall scored twice for EC.

Tressana Osborne and Hall had one hit each while Peterman, Boeckmann, Osborne and MaKayla Smith scored one run each. Pirman drove in a run.

On the mound, Sierra Christian picked up the win with four scoreless innings of work. She struck out four and gave up two hits. Boeckmann finished the game on the mound.

The reserve Lady Astros were 16-4 winners over Batavia on Wednesday and 34-5 winners over Clermont Northeastern on Monday.

In the 16-4 win, Tabby Vance had three hits, scored four runs and drove in a run. Sarah Roe had three hits, three RBI and scored two runs. Tiffanni Bailey had two runs, two hits and two RBI. Shelby Michael had three hits and knocked in three runs.

Madi Crowe had two hits and scored twice. Sydney Michael had two hits and drove in two runs. Emily Tong had two hits and Victoria Jamison scored two runs. Sarah Roe and Courtlyn Cubbage had two stolen bases each.

Hannah Gordon was the winning pitcher with five innings of 10-strikeout ball. She gave up one earned run and walked two.

In Monday’s 34-5 win, Vance had four hits and scored five runs. Roe scored four times, collected three hits and drove in four runs. Tiffanni Bailey scored five runs and stole three bases. She also had two hits and drove in two teammates.

Shelby Michael stole two bases, had three hits, drove in three runs and scored four times. Cooper had four runs scored, four RBI, three stolen bases and had two hits. Sydney Michael scored twice and stole two bases.

Crowe had two RBI and scored twice. Alyssa Stoops had two hits and scored twice. Boeckmann drive in two runs. Olivia Rice had three hits, drove in three runs.

On the mound, Katelyn Talbot, Boeckmann and Gordon pitched two innings each, allowing one earned run and two hits. They combined to strike out five batters.
