ADAMS TOWNSHIP — Freshman Taylor Florea pitched a one-hitter and struck out 10 as Clinton-Massie opened South Central Ohio League softball play Wednesday with an 11-0 win over Washington on the CM diamond.

The Lady Falcons are now 1-0 in league play and 2-0 overall.

Florea had two hits and scored three times at the plate.

“Taylor had good control of her pitches and did a great job keeping the ball down,” CM coach Andy Lauer said. “Only one hit ball left the infield and that was the double to Wendy Hawk.”

Handling Florea’s pitches was fellow freshman Hailey Clayborn.

“I couldn’t have been any more pleased with how they handled the game,” Lauer said.

Caitlyn Robinson led the offense for CM with three hits, three runs scored and three runs batted in.

“Caitlyun is one of our senior leaders,” said Lauer. “She does a great job putting the ball in play as well as another senior Emilie Fisher.”
