Hurricane picks up 4-1 win over Astros

LEES CREEK — The Wilmington High School tennis team defeated East Clinton 4-1 Thursday night in a South Central Ohio League match on the EC courts.

Luke Meares recorded the only win for the Astros at second singles, a 6-4, 6-4 decision over Jonathan Fender.

Matt Keiter and Austin Embree had singles wins while the Brady Henry and Drew Moyer pairing won at first singles. Jalen Douglas and Jack Romer were paired at second doubles and notched a win for WHS.

Wilmington host the Wilmington Invitational 9 a.m. Saturday on the 10-court WHS tennis facility. Wilmington, Blanchester, Middletown, Loveland, Milford, Greenville, Lebanon and Centerville will be participating in the event.
