Blan MS boys 3rd, girls 4th at New Richmond

NEW RICHMOND — The Blanchester Middle School boys track and field team finished third out of 10 teams Satuday at the New Richmond Invitational.

The Ladycats were fourth overall out of 11 schools.

Ally Davis in the discus was the lone event winner for Blanchester’s girls.

Runnersup were Jade West in the discus and Ally Davis in the 400-meter dash.

Third-place finishers were Savanna Schutte in the long jump, Holly Scott in the high jump, Chloe Koeppe in the 100-meter dash and the 4×200-meter relay team of Alex Buerkle, Sarah Casteel, Jenna Monhollen and Schutte.

The 4×400-meter relay team of Casteel, Davis, Monhollen and Caili Baumann finished fifth.

Sixth-place finishers were Izzy Harris in the 100-meter hurdles and Koeppe in the 200-meter dash.

Seventh-place finishers were West in the shot put, Scott in the long jump, Harris in the 200-meter hurdles, Baumann in the 800-meter run and the 4×100-meter relay team of Buerkle, Casteel, Koeppe and Abby Spurling.

For the Blanchester boys, event winners were Hunter Browning in the 1,600-meter run, Tanner Creager in the 800-meter run, Jake Newman in the high jump and the 4×400-meter relay of Browning, Creager, Kaden Berwanger and Carter Stevens.

Runnerup finishes were recorded by Creager in the 1600-meter run and John Schirmer in the high jump.

Third-place finishers were Shane Smith in the 110-meter hurdles, Stevens in the 200-meter hurdles and the 4×100-meter relay team of Stevens, Smith, Brady Phillips and Gavin Colebank.

Fifth-place finishers were Berwanger in the 400-meter dash and Andrew Frump in both the shot put and the discus.

Seventh-place finishers were Phillips in the 100-meter dash and the 4×200-meter relay team of Colebank, Smith, Brian Miller and Phillips.
