CINCINNATI — The Clinton-Massie softball team upped their record to 12-0 with a doubleheader sweep of Roger Bacon.

The Lady Falcons posted wins of 10-3 in eight innings and 10-2 in the non-league games at RBHS.

Clinton-Massie had 26 hits in the two games, with Caitlyn Robinson collecting five hits and scoring three runs in the two games. Emilie Fisher had four hits, scored twice and drove in three runs in the two games. Kelsey Carter had an inside the park homerun in the second game.

Claire Carruthers went the distance in the first game and picked up the win, her fifth of the year. She struck out eight and did not walk a batter.

Jessica Asher earned the pitching victory in the second game.

“Jessica did a great job pitching,” CM coach Anthony Lauer said. “This was the first opportunity she has gotten to pitch and she made the best of it.”

The CM defense struggled in the first game but was better in the second game, Lauer said.
