CINCINNATI — McAuley swept a doubleheader from Blanchester in non-league softball action Saturday.

The Ladycats lost the first game 10-5 and the second game 8-3.

In the first game, BHS had seven errors which led to seven unearned runs.

“When you play a team like McAuley, you cannot afford to give them extra out and we did that too many times in this game,” BHS coach Jamey Grogg said.

Maddie Curless took the loss but gave up just five hits and three earned runs.

Kassidy Abney had three hits, including a double and a triple, while Shelbie Rose drove in two runs for BHS.

In the second game, Shayla Sicurella took the loss but gave up just four earned runs. On the day, BHS surrendered 11 unearned runs to McAuley.

Hannah Mann and Savana Greene had two hits each.
