EC trips Trace in 8 innings, 11-10

EBER — Kayla Hall’s single brought home Maddie Cox with the winning run in the eighth inning Monday as East Clinton defeated Miami Trace 11-10 in South Central Ohio League softball action.

East Clinton out-hit Miami Trace 19-8 but had to work overtime for the victory. Tori Bailey led EC with four hits.

There were nine lead changes in the back and forth game.

In the eighth inning, Cox led off with a single to left. She moved to second on Bailey’s hit. Hall then hit a line drive up the middle that Trace’s pitcher was unable to field, allowing Cox to score the game-winning run.
