EC boys track, field team claims 5 firsts

The East Clinton boys track and field team competed at Bethel-Tate last Saturday and London on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, the Astros claimed four first-place finishes.

Brian Barnes won the 110-meter high hurdles in a personal best time of 16.3 seconds. Wes Kidder hit the line first in the 300-meter hurdles and was runnerup in the 110 hurdles.

Barnes also finished first in the 200-meter dash and Thomas Wright won the discus.

Josh Jones was second in the 3,200-meter run and finished fourth in the 1600-meter run. Nathan Crouch was second in the 1600 and third in the 3200. Joey Gray was fourth in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes.

Anthony Osburn was third in the 100, Ethan Ambrose was third in the 400 and Devin Henson was fourth in the 400. Ambrose was second in the high jump and Colten Groves was third in the long jump.

The 4×100-meter relay team of Gray, Kidder, Barnes and Osburn finished as runnersup.

At Bethel-Tate, Barnes again won the 110-meter hurdles with Kidder finishing fourth. Kidder was second in the 300 hurdles.

Thomas Wright was fourth in the discus an Zack Mitchell placed sixth in the long jump. Crouch was fifth and Jones sixth in the 3,200-meters.

The 4×100-meter relay team of Gray, Kidder, Barnes and Osburn finished fourth overall.
