BLANCHESTER — The Blanchester softball team defeated Eastern Brown 6-4 Saturday in a non-league game at BHS.

Seniors Rachael Doyle and Hope Florea were honored prior to the game, BHS coach Jamey Grogg said.

“It was nice to get a win on the day you recognize your seniors,” said Grogg. “Rachael and Hope are two outstanding young ladies who do everything they can to help make our softball program better. They are great leaders and teammates.”

Jay Dalton had two hits and scored three runs for the Ladycats. Savana Greene knocked in two runs with a two-out double in the first.

Madison Curless earned the save in relief while Katy Henry started and picked up the win.

Elecia Patton led the defensive effort at shortstop, Grogg said.

“We were also patient at the plate and drew six walks and when you get people on base, that just puts that much more pressure on the defense,” said Grogg.
