NEW RICHMOND — For the second straight season, the Blanchester Middle School boys track and field team finished second Monday in the Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference championship meet at New Richmond.

Goshen won the meet with 94 points while Blanchester finished with 91 points.

The Blanchester 4×400-meter relay team of Tanner Creager, Hunter Browning, Blake Richard and Kaden Berwanger set a school record with a time of 4:00.7. They finished second overall in the race.

The young Ladycats were ninth in the 13-team event.

Ally Davis was second in the 400-meter dash and fifth in the shot put. Chloe Koeppe finished third in the 100-meter dash. Holly Scott was sixth in the high jump and Savanna Schutte finished sixth in the long jump. Caili Baumann was seventh in the 400-meter dash.

The 4×200-meter relay team of Alex Buerkle, Jenna Monhollen, Koeppe and Schutte finished third overall. The 4×100-meter relay team of Buerkle, Sarah Casteel, Schutte and Abby Spurling finished seventh. The 4×400-meter relay team Buerkle, Scott, Monhollen and Baumann came in eighth overall.

For the boys, the Wildcats complete the season with an overall 57-9 record, coach Tom Greve said.

Jake Newman won the high jump championship while teammate John Schirmer was second in the high jump.

Creager was first in the 800-meter run and third in the 1,600-meter run. Browning was second in both the 800- and 1,600-meter runs.

Carter Stevens was third in the 110-meter hurdles. Hunter Bare was third in the discus and fifth in the shot put for the Wildcats. Kaleb Goodin was fourth in the shot put and eighth in the discus. Brayden Roy was a fifth-place finisher in the long jump.

The 4×200-meter relay team of Stevens, Richard, Berwanger and Roy finished fifth while the 4×100-meter relay team of Stevens, Richard, Schirmer and Berwanger placed sixth.
