AUSTINTOWN – It’s been a good couple of days for Wilmington College softball player Savannah Hooper.

Just a day after being named Academic All-District, Hooper earned second team All-Ohio Athletic Conference, the league announced.

“Savannah had an outstanding year and is very deserving of all conference recognition,” said Wilmington head coach Beth Floyd. “She plays with passion and heart and her positive attitude is contagious. She is a young lady with tremendous character and character drives success.”

Hooper, who was named WC’s Female Athlete of the Year, finished third in the OAC with a team-high .472 batting average, which is the third-best average all-time at Wilmington College.

The sophomore outfielder also finished fourth in the OAC with 20 stolen bases. Hooper’s 50 hits are third all-time in school history.

Hooper also earned Academic All-OAC as a member of the women’s basketball team.
