LEBANON — Clinton-Massie’s offense dominated Bellbrook pitching Tuesday in a 14-0 five inning win in a Div. II Dayton Sectional championship game at Lebanon Junior High School.

The Lady Falcons, 24-0 on the year, will face Ross at noon Saturday at Mason High School in a Div. II Mason District championship game.

Ross, who shared the Southwest Ohio Conference softball championship with Edgewood, is 18-7 on the year. The Lady Rams defeated New Richmond 20-1 in five innings Tuesday. Clinton-Massie defeated New Richmond 7-4 during the regular season.

Taylor Florea (18-0) and Claire Carruthers combined to hold Bellbrook to four hits. Taylor went four innings and Carruthers pitched one inning.

“Taylor Florea pitched another nice game,” CM coach Anthony Lauer said. “Lebanon’s field is a little different to pitch on than most fields. It has an uphill slope that you normally don’t see on fields. I thought Taylor did a nice job adjusting to it.”

On offense, Caitlyn Robinson slugged a two-run homer in a nine-run Lady Falcons second inning and Florea, Taylor Flanigan and Kelsey Carter cranked out three hits each.

“This was one of our better hitting games,” said Lauer. “We came out from the start hitting the ball. I’ve told the girls all week we need to start being more patient at the plate. We need to be hitting our pitches. We had 20 hits in four innings. I would say we were a lot more patient.”

Robinson drove in four runs and Flanigan knocked in three.

“I’m proud of the seniors for stepping up and leading our hit parade,” said Lauer.

Robinson, Carruthers, Hailey Clayborn, Emilie Fisher and Ashlie Miller had two hits each.

“I could go on about every girl on this team and what they did to help us win,” Lauer said. “This was a great team victory.”
