Members of the Wilmington Bicycle Club rode from Cuba to Hillsboro and back on June 25 in support of Relay for Life events in both Wilmington and Hillsboro.

Riding anywhere from 20 to 54 miles on this trek, riders also helped to promote the upcoming “Pan Ohio Cancer Ride,” according to a press release from the WBC. Club riders have participated in this event for several years. The end of July ride goes from Cincinnati to Cleveland and covers 328 miles. Funds raised for the event will help Hope Lodges in both Cincinnati and Cleveland. Hope Lodges are places were cancer patients can stay during their treatments.

Two or three times a week, Wilmington Bicycle Club members get togethers to ride on local back roads and trails, mostly in Clinton, Greene and Highland counties. The rides are usually 25 to 30 miles with a lunch stop.

The clubs has longer and shorter rides to meet the needs of riders of all levels and abilities. To join, the press release states, riders must have a well-maintained bike, a helmet and a desire to explore the area.

The Wilmington Bicycle Club holds monthly meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at Donatos Pizza on Rombach Avenue. Those eating prior to the meeting should be there at 6 p.m. Meetings begin at 7 p.m. The next meeting is scheduled for July 12.
