ADAMS TOWNSHIP — The final pairing Caleb Enright and Thomas Carter posted 41s to lift Clinton-Massie to 158 to 161 win over Wilmington in South Central Ohio League golf action at Majestic Springs Golf Club.

Drew Carey of Wilmington “played up to his potential,” WHS coach Phil Gilmore said, and was the overall match medalist with a 37.

But the Falcons were solid up and down the lineup. Drew Kienle and Keith Mineer posted 38s to give Massie a four-shot lead after the first foursome came in.

The Hurricane first pair of Hunter DeWeese (41) and Jack Murphy (39) kept the match close. Wilmington followed with Carey’s 37 and a 51 by Cameron Smart.

Massie countered with a 43 by Max Carnevale and a 42 by Cameron Collett. At that time, the Falcons led by seven shots, 161 to 168.

Zack Zeckser’s 44 essentially tied the match at 161 but then Enright and Carter came in with 41s to drop the Falcons score to 158. Zach Wyrick’s 47 for WHS did not count toward the team total.
